Abstract: Tourism is a Multifaceted, multi dimensional industry involving a huge infrastructure, manpower and resources. The current write-up illustrates and examines the major role of different strategies and steps in reducing the perishability of Hotel rooms. The Tourism Products are varied and of complex mix of Tangible and Intangible Products. The physical components are tangible in nature where as service components are intangible. Almost all the tourism products whether it is Hotel room, A seat in the airlines, a seat in the restaurant and so on are tangible in nature since it can neither be stored for future usage nor it can be reused on consecutive day and so once not sold for a particular day, it is lost for ever and the revenue outcome is Zero for that particular product/service.
