Paper Title: A study on factors affecting job satisfaction among employees in hotel industry-With reference to categorized hotels in Faridabad.

Abstract:
Job satisfaction has been a topic of interest and research since beginning. Since the factors causing satisfaction from varies from organization to organization as well as from individual to other studying job satisfaction is of great relevance since a satisfied employee exhibits difference in terms of performance, behavior and effectiveness in work Especially in service industry where the boom and competition is at the crux understanding the factors that lead to satisfaction amongst the workforce in context to work related factors and impact of demographic factors on satisfaction towards job is essential to explore.
The present study aimed at identifying different factors and their impact on job satisfaction of employees working in selected hotels in Faridabad.Since job satisfaction is a highly multi-tudinal variable and it is this factor on which the performance, chances of retention and employees commitment towards work depends the study was considered to be important especially in context to hotel industry.
A structured questionnaire was prepared and from 18 different statements an attempt was made to identify the important factors that affect job satisfaction of employees. Also the impact of different demographic factors like age, gender and income group was also studied. The data was analyzed using chi-square and factor analysis. The analysis and results revealed that there was no significant difference in the level of satisfaction with respect to different demographic factors. It was also found that out of different 18 statements four statements largely explained the variance in the data which were Growth opportunities, Work environment, job security and type of supervision.
This leads to the outcome that management at top should focus and emphasize on role and significance of these identified factors while planning to enhance job satisfaction of employees by bringing desired and positive changes in these dimensions, since the study reveals that the above mentioned factors affect employee’s attitude towards job and drives their satisfaction towards their job largely.
The findings will help in providing an insight and emphasize upon the role of these factors in making organization people centered and deriving maximum satisfaction and higher performance.
